Information and Explanations
This guide more than just a directory of services. We’ve added explanations and information about each section in order to give you a better understanding of these subjects within the context of Quebec. You can find information about how to stay warm in winter, housing rights, where to find care when you are pregnant, after-school activities in your neighbourhood, and more.
Searching the Guide
There are two ways to search for information in the guide:
In the search bar, write the topic that you want information about (where it says “How can we help?”), and click the search button. You will get a list of articles relevant to that topic. You can type in your topic such as “daycare”, “work permits” or “food banks” and click the search button to find all articles relating to the topic you are looking for.
You can also seek information to answer your question by clicking on one of the six categories: Immigration, healthcare, housing, social and community services, education and childcare, and employment and financial information. Clicking one of these categories will show you specific sections and articles related to each of these categories.
Can’t find your answer?
If you can’t find an answer to your question, or if you find that some of the information needs updating, there is a “Help” button in the bottom right hand corner. There you can submit any questions you may have that the Guide didn’t cover. If you need further support from the Welcome Collective team, you must have an email address so that we can get back in touch with you.
Language Preference
To choose your language preference, go to the top or bottom on the right-hand side of the page. Currently we have the guide in French and in English. We are working on translating the website into Spanish, Arabic, and Portuguese.
If you want to volunteer to translate some of the sections into these languages, please contact us HERE
